Please Knock is a New York–based platform dedicated to erotic art through publishing, archival projects, exhibitions, and in-person events, including the annual NYC Erotic Art Fair—a one-day market and exhibition centered on erotic imagery and underground visual culture.

Founded in 2020, Please Knock began as an online bookstore specializing in erotic publications and explicit printed material. Unlike most online adult booksellers, we chose to present uncensored interior pages rather than limiting previews to book covers or censored images. As a result, we were classified as "high risk" by payment processors and financial institutions, leading to increasing compliance requirements and operational restrictions. Over time, these conditions made the bookstore unsustainable.

In response to these challenges, we shifted our focus to physical publications and events, with the NYC Erotic Art Fair becoming our central annual program.
